McGreen's Bucket List

Hiya Everyone,

Aaah so word has spread among some of my friends that I have a blog (this makes me nervous), one of them has a meticulous eye for spelling and grammar and I just know she'll be reading this and tutting!

I thought i'd share with you my bucket list, I know its a silly thing to do when you don't have a terminal illness or anything and I've not really thought too far ahead. So, its not technically a life bucket list - just a NOW bucket list.

(I hope you know what I mean by a bucket list, but i'm sure if you don't, when you read you'll get the drift)

A List of The Bucket Variety

1.  To go on holiday in 2011 - Check! I'm off to sunnier climbs next week, Marmaris in Turkey to be precise! I haven't been on a proper holiday since I visited the 6ft blonde half German in Lanzarote a loooong time ago! I'm going with two of my cousins, my mum and two of my aunties - this is sure to provide me with lots of laughs that I will blog about upon my return!

2. I want a booyyyyyfrrriiieeeeend - Yes, it is true, being single is not all it is cracked up to be. I want someone to snuggle with in the long winter months. Ladies, tell your male friends... McGreen is single as a pringle and ready to mingle! Male readers.... apply by comment ha!

3. To get my career back on track - Before I left Cumbria, I had a sweet job with really good prospects, then the new government came in and scuppered my plans! My heart lies with helping people back into work, I had a bit of a flair for matching people to jobs and I LOVED meeting prospective employers... BUT. Obviously, I don't have enough experience and I'm fighting for a spot in a much bigger pond, down here. Hoping some voluntary work will sort me out, other than that - me Dad always says; "patience is a virtue, don't waste your life stressing about the future, just enjoy what you have now, tomorrow is going to come whatever - embrace it". The worst thing is, I always got good feedback from managers etc, they totally fed my ego and made me think I was indestructible and the worlds most employable person - not in Manchester it seems!

4. I WILL BE THIN! - Was on the dreaded Slimming World diet till this week, haven't been to weigh in for a couple of weeks and decided I couldn't afford the £14 shame money, to go back and told I'd put weight on. (They make you pay if you don't go - how rude) So, me and the 6ft blonde half German have decided to do our own weekly weigh in's, at a mere fraction of the slimming world price (50p)! Again, I will keep you updated on how this goes... maybe the shame of having to tell my readers will make me put down the pies? Here's hoping!

5. To go to cocktail university - Cloud 23 bar in the Hilton hotel does this amazing cocktail afternoon course, its pretty pricey at £40 per person (you have to have a minimum of 8 people) but it just looks awesome! Have a little look; http://www.cloud23bar.com/events.php

6. To see The Wanted and Ed Sheeran - I have a massive crush on Ed Sheeran and his dulcet tones, I refer to him as my little ginger prince. Incidentally, the same name as I have for my cat Charlie ha! As for The Wanted, This is my part of the plan for the end of the weight loss journey - they are playing in Manchester on the 17th Feb 2012, I want to turn up looking flyyyyyy and then obviously Max will see me and be like "MICHELLE WHO?". One can only dream!

7. To explore more of the world - By saying this I mean, more of my surroundings - I have a couple of friends from Uni who are off travelling the world, and that's just not for me. I'd love to Inter-rail around Europe and see at little more of the UK! Growing up in Germany has meant that I really haven't had chance to 'get around'. I think I'll invest in a map and just bugger off every once and a while! Liverpool and Leeds are next on my list!

8. To get more Twitter and Blog followers! - I must become more entertaining and get people to follow me! Help?

9. To make more friends - I know its quality not quantity, but I really would like to know more people in Manchester. I'm not really very good at making friends - I tend to make snap judgements on people, so i'll need to work on that, but it's all about self improvement!

10. To stalk more famous people - In the least weird way possible... Since moving to Manchester and working in Didsbury I have met a couple of 'famous' people - Today being the most recent encounter; an actual school girl crush! I will explain more in a later blog, but I get so giddy! Oh I' am so very country!

So, there you go - Just a few of my superficial life wants! I sat here thinking about 'Bucket Lists' in general and giggled to myself. I'm sure normal people want; 'To swim with dolphins" - but I want a boyfriend and to go to cocktail university - that definitely says a lot about me!

That's all for now folks, I wanted to to a couple of posts tonight, but this took me so long and then I went on the phone. My cousin and life coach called for a quick catch up chinwag and ends up being an hour long random chat, which makes me miss her like crazy! More about her in upcoming posts too! ( I should really make a list of things to blog about)

Getting to know me, getting to know all about me...

As a way for my readers to get to know the real McGreen, I thought I would do one of those silly myspace-esq quizzes, but then I couldn't be bothered. So, I shall Just write you a little spiel. Here goes.

McGreen

My real name is Stacey, but Ssshh don't tell anyone. For the purposes of this blog I will be the Manchester equivalent of Gossip Girl, ish-maybe. I am 23 years old and I live in South Manchester, near Cheshire.
(The 6ft blonde half German)
I live with my one of my bestest friends (a 6ft blonde half German)  and I temp in a Children's Centre (but not for much longer)

I went to uni in Lancaster and read a joint BA (hons) degree in Criminology and Sociology, somehow after 3
years of solid drinking and a schizophrenic dissertation on Lesbians, I ended up with a 2:1.

I want to be an Employment Advisor (helping people on benefits / long term sick, get back to work), I got a bit of experience doing it and working with disadvantaged people in my last job and I'm now trying to get back into it. I love working with people and helping them realise their full potential!  The fairy job mother Hayley is my Idol (though I wish I could dress her better)

I love my little life... most of the time. I am all over the 'Bros before Hoes' mantra and have no time for people who dump their buddies as soon as a new partner comes along.

I'm quite random,I find myself more hilarious than is probably acceptable and I often toot my own trumpet, because if I don't who will!

I am very up for a laugh, I have three words in life that I live by... Love, Live and Laugh. I love to love, I live as well as I can, and I can always be found laughing, generally about something that happened yesterday.

I often get lost in my own thoughts and have lots of questions about life, which is where this blog comes into it, I will be sharing these questions with you lot and trying to stumble across some answers!

So, I'm now a blogger...

Hi everyone,
I've always wanted to write a blog, a couple of my friends have started blogging and have done really well, so I thought I'd have a go at it. I love writing, I wish I had done creative writing at uni, and I alwaaays have too much on my mind, this is a brilliant way to offload.
I warn you I'm not the most entertaining person on the planet but I have a few ideas for posts that should keep me going for a while.
Plus, I have this sort of personality where almost everything I do, is a MASSIVE deal to me - so no doubt I will be sharing these little gems with you from time to time. (like today - I went to Tesco after work and saw Tina O'Brien of Coronation Street fame, just casually doing her shopping, it's the second time I've seen her. The first time she came to the place I work and I nearly fell over. I'm such a country girl.)
I hope you all (I'm saying you all, in the hope that I get a few followers) enjoy reading, If not I'm sure I'll enjoy reading what I've written in a disgracefully self-indulgent manner.
